Participation and Representation of Employees at Board Level, and the opportunities offered by the SE - European Company, in the New EU-Member States
Exchange of views and experiences regarding board-level representation throughout Europe (Part II)
Completing the picture: Second exchange seminar held in Poland (12-14 May 2005)
In May, the second exchange seminar within the framework of the PRESENS project was organised in Gdansk (Poland). Again experts, practitioners and trade union officials from both "new" and "old" member states were invited to discuss the practice and reality of board-level representation in Europe. The seminar filled in the gaps in the picture resulting from the first exchange seminar in Denmark by providing information and "stories" from Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland, Estonia and Cyprus. The former EU-15 countries were represented at the seminar by Austria, the Netherlands, Finland and Ireland.
The two exchange seminars (in Denmark and in Poland) clearly revealed, once again, the need for a better understanding of the national systems and particularly of the practices in the different member states. The PRESENS project aims to take a step in this direction by providing a platform for exchange and for learning from each other.
